Tribe Tunes: December 2

jayWith the running conditions getting a little more slip and slidey out there the Tribe Monday night #runcrew has started their Around the Bay hill training early. To kick off our newest weekly run, here are three motivating tunes by Tribe run leader Jason Pomerantz. If these tracks don’t push you out the door while lacing up those sneakers, I don’t know what will!*

As we transition into winter training, hills are the new intervals. The thing with winter and hill training is the general lack of motivation for all of us. Firstly, to get outside into the cold,  and then the double whammy of knowing that once you are out in the cold, you’ll be running hills.

There is no better way for me to get motivated to head out the door, than listening to some motivating tunes to pump me up and get me going!

These three songs are definitely motivating to me and they each have a certain something that helps me tackle winter hills!

3. Imagine Dragons – Radioactive. This is my new motivational tune – I love how it builds up from small and slow into a big sound with big drums hits and a faster tempo as it goes.

2. U2 – Elevation. We are climbing hills after all. We are gaining elevation and this middle tune helps keep up the pace.

1. Eminem – Lose Yourself. This is my all time favourite motivation song. When I’m struggling with a run, workout even a non-fitness related issue, this song never fails to pick me up when I’m hurting and put me back into the fight,  re-invigorated and re-energized. After all, “Success is the only mother!$&! option, failure’s not”.

We don’t support it. Don’t do it. Listen to these jams, then go run!
