The Toronto International Film Festival is one of my favourite events to experience here in the city. After a couple years of practice, the husband and I have making our TIFF selections down to a fine art.
For the last three years we have settled on purchasing a 20 pack with additional singles for other movies that peak our interest (yes, it’s a lot, but we love movies). We typically divide the pack in half with each of us choosing up to five films. We try to keep the number of films which will end up at the box office the following week to a minimum, and yes, vetoing is allowed.
This years line up is very celebrity laden, with many A-Listers in town to fill your (okay my) red carpet camera roll. George, Meryl, Nicole, Julia – here’s a top 10 to fill in the rest. Wondering where to see them? Check out this photo listgenerated by Huffington Post. Want more TIFF gossip? Toronto Life has a whole section dedicated to the latest gossip, celebrity sightings, red carpet photo galleries, and the inside scoop of the hottest parties.
Here are the nine TIFF movies we’ve picked to view this year. If you’ve wanted to check TIFF out, but didn’t know what to see, use these as your guide, or why not trust the very helpful army of volunteers at the sales kiosk and catch whatever fits in your schedule.
What are you excited to check out? Let me know in the comments!
