The Toronto Yonge Street 10km is one of Toronto’s fastest running races. Taking place down Toronto’s longest street it’s almost all downhill and often results in some epic personal bests. I’ve raced this fun route over the past couple years, but this time am mixing it up and making it an even more SUPER experience.

This year I have decided to join up with a fundraising run group called the Justice League Runners. Founded by JP Hernandez (aka Batman), the Justice League Runners race in super hero costumes raising money for Sick Kids Hospital. JP was once a recipient of their services and his grandchildren have spent time there as well, so it is a charity close to his heart.

Over the past year, the Justice League Runners have raised thousands of dollars for Sick Kids Hospital, have put countless smiles on the faces of kids and aunts along the race route, have created a ton of awareness for Sick Kids, and for all these reasons I am excited to join them.

So, on April 19th, along with Batman, Batgirl, and Robin, Green Lantern, Cat Women Wonder Women, Superman, and many more superheroes, I will be racing #TYS10K as “the world’s greatest heroine”,  the one and only Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl!

Now for those who don’t know, Supergirl is Superman’s younger cousin, sent to Earth by her father when their planet is at risk to be slain by Green Kryptonite (yup, her weakness too.).
